Exclude an image from a post's gallery/slideshow

  Is there a way to include an image on a post without it being included in the gallery or slideshow? When I insert the image from the library but do not attach it, it fails to display in some browsers. I really don’t want it to appear in the slideshow I’ve created for the post.

  Correction, the image is part of the content on a page in the blog (Note Card tab), not in a blog post.

  Thank you for you quick response. I’ve read that thread and am confused about how to accomplish the step recommended, which is specifying [ gallery exclude=id #1, id#2 ] for the image.

  In Edit Media (from clicking on the image inside the Media Library), I’m not sure where to add “gallery exclude=id#”. Should I be importing the image anew?

  Or is it done in the Advanced Settings in the Edit Image dialog that comes up when you click on the image in the Edit Page view?

  By design, the gallery will only display photos that are attached to the post or page where they were uploaded. You do this by either uploading the photos directly to the post or page, or by attaching *unattached* images you’ve already uploaded in the Media Library to the post or page where you want them to appear.

  You can exclude images from a gallery, but the built-in WordPress slideshow will display anything uploaded to the post or page where it appears. no way to exclude in a slideshow.
