excluding images from galleries
-
I want to insert a gallery into a page. How do I do this without including all the images on that page that are in my gallery? I only want to include some of the images in the official gallery while some of the other images just appear on other places on the page. I don’t know how to use the ‘exclude’ function because I can’t see the attachment IDs when hovering over the filename–as suggested in the support pages.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If hovering didn’t work well, Follow these steps to find attachment IDs:
- Go to Dashboard
- Media
- Library
- Hovering on an image arises follow links in front of media thumbnails:
Edit |Delete Permanentaly | View - Click on view (open in new tab/window)
- You’ll see the url like http://yourblog.wordpress.com/?attachment_id=238
- Here 238 (for example) is you attachment Id.
- Use it in short code
-
When I do that I see the name that I have given my image and not an attachment _id. I do not see a number.
-
This mean that you’ve attached that image to a gallery post. Here’s other way:
Click on Edit and it will show the url (in address bar) as https://wpgaurav.wordpress.com/wp-admin/media.php?attachment_id=2626&action=edit . Here 2626 is attachment id. This will work. I’m sure. -
