Exclusion of own visits in wordpress stats…

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve read about blog stats: Your own visits to your blog (for logged-in users of public blogs only) – so, if my wordpress site has static pages and a blog page are these all incl in the stats? Also, my site is public but I have ‘private’ draft posts. Can I assume my own visits, both when creating posts and when I come in from some other place ex-wordpress site, that my visits are NOT counted in my stats?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you are logged in and your blog is public, your stats are not counted. If you are logged in and your blog is private, your stats are counted. If you are not logged in, you are counted either way.

    Thanks Raincoaster,

I thought so – just the other wording is ambiguous.

    Happy blogging.

I know I am the only reader of my blog. I know I am logged in. I know my site is public. My stats show one visitor : this is me.

How do you know you’re the only reader of your blog?

someone from Australia who reads a blog in French and does know the URL… (the visit is not coming from any other website)! I think there is only me…!
I started my blog one week ago.

    Oh dear,
Thanks you two for discussing. I’ve got a feeling, stefdelec, that you may have something there. It seems if I am logged on and preview new posts or changes that may be the case because very quickly afterward my stats read a log on when I’ve not publicised the new post anywhere.

Raincoaster, do you have any idea how we can further verify?
