  Hello,
  I would like my home page to dispplay an exerpt of the article rather than the frist X lines of the article. I would also like the exerpt to be used when I share the article on facebook.

  Can you please tell me how to make this happen?

  That’s possible, but only certain themes make use of the custom excepts–and Penscratch isn’t one of them. Here are a couple of themes that do use that feature.

  This is possible as part of the publicize option. Before you publish a post, just add a custom excerpt to the publicize area. This is separate from the standard excerpt area.
