Existing tags NOT available in the new block editor
-
Hi! I see the new block editor is now official. I created a new post today. I wanted to assign an existing tag and NONE are visible to choose from. How do I get that list back? Thanks!
-
Hi, if you click in the tag box and type the first three letters of the tag, does the existing tag appear?
-
Hi, I just tried that and it works. Now, I guess any time I want to tag anything I’ll have to first go look at my list of tags to remember what I have. :/ I’ve just observed a worse problem. I had a page and a post in drafts. Everything but the first paragraph is gone. Grrrr!

Hi there,
I had a page and a post in drafts. Everything but the first paragraph is gone
What is the title of the page or blog post so we can take a closer look. What else should be there? A few more paragraphs, or much more than that? Give us a bit of an idea of what was there so we will be sure to see it when we take a look, thanks!

Thank! Here is one draft: https://wordpress.com/post/mymeanderingroots.wordpress.com/1722. I just noticed that it says 15 revisions. It looks like everything is struck out. I certainly didn’t do that. :)

Oops, sorry. I didn’t really answer your question. I have the text content in a Word document and it is five pages long. There were also ten images.

I noticed that when I tried to restore the revision previous to the one with the “struck text” I saw there was a block recovery error of some kind:
After taking a closer look at the code for the page, I noticed that there was some odd markup for your images that seemed to be causing issues. Did you happen to copy and paste that content from another source?
I was able to recover the content and you should now see the full post here: https://wordpress.com/post/mymeanderingroots.wordpress.com/1722

That’s odd. I prefer to draft my posts in Word and then I copy/paste the text into the editor. It is what I did here as well. I uploaded the images and inserted them in the appropriate place.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate this. :)

When copy/pasting content from another software, there is always a risk that some formatting code will be copied as well, and it may not work correctly.
If you prefer to create your posts in Word, I’d suggest you copy text without formatting.
