  I have an existing website that I would like to transfer to wordpress.com. If I upload my existing website to wordpress can I have the website ‘without’ wordpress.com? As in califprep.com without the wordpress.com?

  You will need the Domain Mapping upgrade to do that. Domain Mapping is included in all WordPress.com paid plans:
