Was given the task to manage postings and upkeep of our company website and I have zero experience, learning as I go. What is the best tutorial to watch to learn what the coding means, where to find things ‘behind the scenes’ basically how to keep the website looking fresh, accurate and professional.

Hey there! Honestly it depends on how the site is set up. Do you know if it’s hosted here on our managed services?
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/If it’s hosted here we have quite a few tutorials and resources, as well as webinars, direct support, and 1:1 coaching sessions available. And if it’s not hosted here, you’d be welcome to move a WordPress installation to our services, so long as your plan supports it!
https://transferto.wordpress.com/self-hosted-wordpress-org/If you’re using a DIY copy of WordPress with another host, I’d check in first with documentation for your active theme and plugin, and also refer to the resources at https://wordpress.org/support/ .

Hi!
Thank you!As I mentioned…total rookie here! Is there a way for me to check who the host is? I do believe it is WordPress. When I go “behind” the scenes to make an update (we are a public company, I am constantly uploading shareholder and SEC documents) and up in the top left hand corner is the WordPress logo, so I assume that WordPress is the host?
Thank you,

Hi there,
We may not be the host in this case. To explain, there is more than one version of WordPress. There is the one we offer here on WordPress.com which is a fully managed and hosted website platform… all you need to do is create an account with us and start building your site.
There is however a second more advanced version that is free (open source) and totally DIY. It is a software package you download from wordpress.org, and use to set up a self-hosted WordPress site, which are sites that you create on a “traditional web host” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.
We have more info about the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
What is the URL of the site you are needing help with? We can look it up that way and see if it is hosted here (in which case we can definitely help) or if it is hosted elsewhere, in which case I can at least point you in the right direction for help.
Thanks for the additional info!

I believe we do have the more advanced version and I think our web host is Berkshire Direct, the site I am talking about http://www.parkaerospace.com (or http://www.parkelectro.com).

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
They also have a few courses at https://learn.wordpress.org
