@robertscottrhyl can you confirm whether you’re referring to probusclubsinnorthwales.wordpress.com or another site? If it’s another site, can you send a link?
For the site you mentioned, I can see a comment form on the about page. You can remove it by going to My Site > Pages and clicking the three dots near About.
From there, click More Options and take the checkmark out of “Allow Comments” as well as “Allow Pingbacks” if you’d like, then save your changes.

Yes quite correct the right website.
Really sorry but I can’t find the 3 dots to get to ‘More Options’ >>>
Is it possible to send a ‘screen shot’ or ? PLEASE.

Click on “My Sites” “Site Pages” on the left. You should see your “About” page title and the three dots are to the far right of it. Click the dots and “edit” and “Discussion” and make sure “allow comments” is unticked. (If when you click the three dots you don’t see a settings menu on the far right you may need to click on the “cog” top right to enable it).

I regret to say that I am not able to find the ‘pointers’ described in your post, sorry.
So, yes please. The comment Form at the bottom of the Home Page is NOT visible when editing but IS visible to a click from the Google website together with the
‘November 23, 18 admin Leave a comment Edit’ in blue italics which I would like to delete.
Also ”PROBUS CLUBS IN NORTH WALES Probus Club?’ the top 2 lines of the opening page ‘What is a Probus Club?’ should be deleted.
Thank you for your trouble.

Yes quite correct the right website.
I think you aren’t talking about https://probusclubsinnorthwales.wordpress.com/ at all.
http://www.probusclubsinnorthwales.org.uk/ is hosted by Hostinger not WordPress.com and will be using the WordPress.org software. The correct forum for support is https://wordpress.org/support/ -
Ah. Good catch.
@probusclubsinnorthwalesc1b9ba73ce, WordPress.com and WordPress.org really are quite different, which explains why you weren’t seeing what we see. Best wishes sorting this out.
