Expand on Click

hello! can you make a screenshot where we can activate/deactivate the Gutenberg plugin? I have the free basic version of WordPress (theme Baskerville 2) and I’m not sure I can play with plugin or extensions…
In any case, I hope the official support of WordPress.com can fix the bug and release soon a new version.
-
@photopask I’m nearly certain that plugins cannot be enabled/disabled on the free version of WP. From the admin panel, look for a main menu item called “Plugins”. The Gutenberg plugin would be listed there. If you don’t see that menu, that means you don’t have the ability to enable/disable plugins.

It really is time we had an update from WordPress on this issue. It wasn’t broken before, and someone must know why it’s broken now. Please fix it!
-
Howdy friends, there is a fix in place for this issue that will launch with Gutenberg 17.4 (the system that manages the block editor) but it is currently in testing and has not rolled out to production yet. We are not able to provide an estimate on when it will be rolled out, but a fix is just around the corner! Thank you all for your patience and Happy New Year!

Is there any sight of this mythical corner that the fix is just around? Are you nearly complete with the new version? Have you validated it this time to make sure it doesn’t cause further problems? So many questions, so few answers.

@johnhallett773 Did you not see the response above from @staff-totoro? Gutenberg 17.4, which was released 6 days ago, purportedly fixes this issue. Users of self-hosted WordPress can install now. Per a post in another thread, wordpress.com users have to wait a few more days for it to become available. (Which is why I said “purportedly” above. I haven’t been able to test on my site yet.)

The Expand on Click feature seems to be working on my blogs again, so I assume that the update has now been rolled out successfully.

Finally got the latest version of the Gutenberg plugin on my site. Issue is resolved for me. Yay.

Hi All. I started a separate post about this as after making a few slight changes to background colour on my website, all of my images have now stopped expanding-on-click? I have tried turning the link off and on again, but alas still nothing. Can someone from wordpress.com help with this or advise a fix please?
Kind regards, Jay

it seems to have stopped working again. Not only that, but the option to turn in on has also disappeared (from my theme, at least).
-
Can confirm. Did not have the issue when the other user posted on 1st February.
But now I have the same problem again. Images no longer expand on click, and the the option to toggle it (turn on/off) has disappear from the image settings inside the post.
-
Yes, the same here as 2 replies above, as well as not working, the button to toggle it on & off has vanished.
-
It took nearly a month to sort it out last time so let’s hope they can work a bit faster on this occasion.
