Expandable Content
-
I know that paying will open a whole new world of plugins etc. But I am new to blogging, and I really want an expandable box in my blog posts.
I have tried the <details>-code, but that seems a bit wonky, and it makes the youtube/vimeo content I originally wanted to hide under the expansion not show up at all.
Is there any hope of doing this, or should I just go to blogger or other services?

What do you mean when you say “expandable box”? Can you rephrase your question, please? It’s not very clear in its current format.
I can do my best to help further from there.

Hi –
What is your blog’s address? Can you tell me more about the “expandable box” idea? Or do you have an example on another site that I could take a peek at? Thanks!

I haven’t published anything on my blog yet, as I didn’t get it to work in the preview the way I want it to.
By expandable box, I mean something like this:
https://wet-boew.github.io/wet-boew-legacy/v3.1/demos/details/expandcollapseall-en.html
As you can see, the codes are hidden until the button is clicked, then a box appears, with a different colour, as to indicate separation from the rest of the site (can be fixed with blockquote). From what I can read online/via google, this feature is possible for the paid version of wordpress, where people can install plugins to fix it for them, but in the free-version you have to go for the <details>-code, which seems to remove the functionality of adding videos from youtube/vimeo.

Good morning –
Thanks for the details. You could likely do this with a plugin on the business plan. Otherwise, take a look at what code is and is not permitted on WordPress.com:
-
Unless you have a wordpress.COM hosted site with a Business plan https://wordpress.com/pricing/ you cannot install any plugins in addition to those that are built in to all of our sites, and you cannot install third party or custom themes.
There is no FTP access to wordpress.COM hosted sites.
Please read:
