  Why did I receive notice that my domain is about to expire? According to my date of registering, that’s not until October.

  WordPress.COM sends the notices out early and the domain renewal happens 30 days before the expiration date so if something goes wrong there is time to fix the problem and renew the name without a break in service or extra charges
