Hi, our domain name has expired – the renewal notification was sent to an old email address that I can no longer access and I can’t find a way to renew it through WordPress. There’s a link from my notifications to click to renew, but when I follow the link there is no option to renew…

Second, since your domain name has already expired, the following will happen (found in the domain expiration page in the support forums):
What happens when my domain expires?
Once a domain expires, it goes through a series of steps that make it increasingly difficult (and more expensive) to renew.
Since you have said you can no longer access it, you can renew it based off the information of the Renewing and Cancelling FAQ page:
I’d like to renew, but can’t log in. How can I gain access to my account?
If you have access to the email address used to create the account, you can reset your password using our Lost Password form. If you no longer have access to the account or to the email address listed for the account, you can use our account recovery form to gain access.Why can’t I renew a domain name or plan on my site?
Only the owner of the domain name or plan may renew the upgrade. If you don’t see the option to renew listed via Purchases, let the owner of the upgrade know so they can renew it.Let me know if you have any other questions.

Unfortunately I didn’t received the renewal email so it has gone past the grace period during which I can renew, as there is no option to renew in purchases. It looks as though I will need to pay $80 recovery fee, but need assistance in finding out how to do that please.

Yes, that’s the URL. Seems like it is in redemption, as I paid $106 last night for domain redemption. What happens now?

In the domains page in our configure settings, I’m being told dawnspowysdance.org is taken, but it doesn’t seem to recognise that it is us who have taken it. Having paid the $106 dollars at 9.30pm I don’t understand what the next steps are and why I haven’t been advised of them.

PLEASE can someone get back to us as soon as possible to tell us what’s going on. It’s not on that you’ve taken the money but not informed us of anything, and that the only way we have of contacting you is through this forum.

I can see from replies other people are getting (how are they getting replies? Why aren’t I??) that once you’ve paid the domain redemption invoice (which I have) that the domain is reactivated. Can this happen now please? And if not, why?

Hi dawnspowysdance. I don’t have the powers to look into the status of the domain; however, here’s some information that may help you.
Domain Expiration & Redemption

It’s important to note that during the redemption phase, domains can be included in expired-domain auctions, where another party can bid on your domain name. If the domain is claimed by someone else in an auction, you will not be able to renew. If you made a payment in attempt to reclaim the domain out of redemption and were unsuccessful, you will get a refund.
If you are on the Premium or Business plan of WordPress.com, you can talk directly to a Happiness Engineer through the live chat. If not, I have tagged this to hopefully get the staff’s attention on this urgent matter.

dawnspowysdance – The domain has been recovered and added back to your account. I left the DNS records as is since I wasn’t certain where you were pointing the domain.
