Hi @lovedesiree,
When a domain has recently expired it falls into a grace period of about 10 days to 2 weeks, in which you are still able to renew your domain at regular price.
Your domain may be currently in the grace period seeing as how it expired quite recently (December 16th). To renew your domain, please head to your WordPress account and press on Manage Purchases and under the Purchases tab you will see the renewal option for your expired domain.
Alternatively, you can also follow the instructions included in the link below:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/faq-renewing-and-canceling/#renew-upgrade
To ensure that you don’t have to worry about your domain expiring in the future, I would recommend enabling the auto-renew feature.
If you would like further information on the process of expired domains and/or auto renew, please follow this link to our support page:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/
Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you!

From what I can see lovedesiree.com expired 13th November 2017 it is now in the redemption period so I have added the “modlook” tag to this thread as staff intervention is required at this stage. Note that recovering your domain now involves additional costs that need to be paid to the registrar as well as your annual renewal fee. See: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

Ugh my biggest fear. Yes do what she said and turn that auto-renew on because even if in the future you forget and let a payment go through on a site you may not want any more, you would have a grace period to cancel it. Better it be paid for and keep it than to go through a hassle.

@themagicrobot – You are completely correct! Thank you for the correcting my mistake, I don’t know how I misread that.

Hi there,
Our domain provider charges us a $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption. Please confirm if you agree to that fee and I can get the redemption process started for you.

Hi @bounty2050,
Could you please begin a new thread?
For future reference, please do not post into threads created by other members. In doing so causes confusion and also leads to everyone who subscribed to this thread to receive unnecessary email notifications:)
Instead to make sure you get the help you require, please use the Add New Topic link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1.
When you do post your new thread, could you also include the site URL you need assistance with?
Thank you!

@lovedesiree
I’ve sent you a payment link via email. Once we receive your payment I can email our registrar to restore the domain.
Your site is not on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software. We cannot help you in these forums. Please post here for help instead: https://wordpress.org/support/

I’ve resent it, but I see your account email is connected to your domain, so that email address will not work until the domain is recovered from redemption.
If you still don’t receive it, please update the email for your WordPress.com account to something else, and let me know so I can send the link to the new address – we can only send the link to the email attached to your WordPress.com account.
You can update your email here:

We’ve received your payment and I’ve emailed our registrar to restore the domain. I’ll let you know as soon as we hear back from them.
