Expired Domain
-
Hello. I missed renewing my domain and it expired. How can I get that back?
-
Hi there, Please let us know the domain name involved.
Did you register your domain through WordPress.com/WildWestDomains? If so, depending on how long it’s been since it expired, there may be an additional charge from the registrar to recover the domain. You can learn more about what happens when a domain expires at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

Hi there,
Are you referring to stldogblog.com? If that’s the domain, then it’s owned by a different account than the one you’re currently logged in.
Please log in to that account and renew the domain as soon as possible. If the domain enters into redemption it will be more difficult to renew it. You can read more about domain expiration here:
If you’re not able to access that account, please read our Account Recovery guide:
-
So, it looks like the domain is in redemption and it’s not giving me an option to renew on my own. According to the link you provided (thank you!),
“If your domain does not offer the option to redeem it yourself it will be removed from your account when it enters the Redemption Period. In that case, please contact support for help redeeming the domain, and we will send you a link to make the required payment so we can recover the domain.”
The contact support link takes me back to the forum. This is so confusing! I feel like Rudy Guiliani trying to Tweet right now!

Hi there, @fstat mentioned about needing to be logged in with a different account to the one you are currently logged in and posting here in the forum.
Are you referring to stldogblog.com? If that’s the domain, then it’s owned by a different account than the one you’re currently logged in.
Please log in to that account and renew the domain as soon as possible.
Kindly log out of WordPressdotcom and then log back in with the username account that owns the domain. If you are having difficulties logging back in you can try in an incognito/private window or an entirely different browser. If you don’t have the log in information for that other username account, you’ll have to go through the account recovery process (sorry for the echo chamber).

I have no idea where this stldogblog270218 account came from! I’m guessing I just no longer own the account? That’s what I can’t figure out. Can I chat with someone or hop on a phone call for someone to walk me through this?
-
Hi there,
stldogblog.com is not in redemption yet, and at this point it can still be renewed at the regular price.
But you’ll need to be logged in as the username,
dogdaysdevelopmentto do that. If you don’t remember the login details for that account or no longer have access to the email address you’d used for that account, please follow our account recovery steps at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ so we can help you regain access. The stldogblog270218 account you’re using to post here was created in February 2018 and has no connection to the other site.
-
Thank you! I’ve renewed the site! I’m horrified at how confusing that was, but appreciate all the support.
-
Ah we’re glad you’ve got it, stldogblog270218.
I think one of the more confusing aspects was that you’ve got (at least) two accounts under different email addresses.
If you’ll always log in as dogdaysdevelopment you should be okay, since this account doesn’t have sites or upgrades.
Will that work for you?
-
Yes, it was this mystery account that was throwing me off. My general email was logging me in, but now I know to log in as Dog Days Development. Thank you! 🙏🏻
