    What is the domain?

    The account you’re using to post here has never owned any domain upgrades with us. Note that we can only recover an expired domain at the request of the account that originally owned the domain.

    We’ve had it for over four years.

    Please advise what steps can be taken to recover the domain and get it reinstated. Thanks

    As @kokkieh has mentioned, I do not see any upgrades under your @tribecacoffeecorporation WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/.

    Is it possible you made your purchase under a different login? I can confirm that tribecacoffeeco.com is registered here at WordPress.com, but it is under a different account, and not your @tribecacoffeecorporation login.

    To help with recovering this domain we would need to hear from you by logging into the account that purchased the domain. Do you recall how to log in to your other WordPress.com account? If not you can reset the password here: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

    Further to the correspondence above…here’s a little more detail on the situation.

    staff-totoro we tried to look on the purchases page and there is no billing history, which is odd because the domain has been registered and had no issues until recently.

    So five years ago, a third party registered the tribecacoffeeco.com domain on WordPress attached to the respective blog on here called tribecacoffeecodotcom.wordpress.com – he used his personal address to register it. For the past four years, it has been renewed without any issue, but for some reason now the domain and its email address ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) has been giving us trouble.

    We just want to be able to access and restore the domain using the login (@tribecacoffeecorporation) that it is supposed to be attached to. Please advise.

    That’s because – as we said earlier – that this purchase was not made under the account you’re currently logged into.

    That’s because the domain registration has expired and is in a redemption period. We can only take action from the user account that owns or had owned the upgrade – including domain registrations – and the account you’re logged into currently has no association with this domain or its transactions, so there’s nothing we can do here unless we hear directly from this third party that made the purchase originally.

    Further to above response, the third party who first made the purchase has volunteered to assist with getting this matter sorted.
    What does he need to do to begin the process?

  • We only need to have the owner of the domain login and post a comment on this thread saying that they would like to redeem the domain. With the owner making the request we can then move forward. We would then provide instructions on how to accomplish and what fees, if any, are involved. We’ll wait for that comment here.

    Further to above, I was under the impression that since 2017 I was the “owner” of this domain.

    The domain was originally set up in 2016 on my behalf by the user (email visible only to moderators and staff) before being transferred to me.

    When I now login to my WordPress account there’s no history. I can’t explain why this is…I own a business in Oakville, ON, called Tribeca Coffee Co.

    None of the advise given by WordPress reps in this thread is getting me any closer to reclaiming this domain. Please tell me what I need to do or with whom to speak with to fix this and move forward…Thanks

  • You are not logged in as the WordPress.com account which owned the domain, and for security reasons, we can’t take action on property owned by one account just based on the word of another account.
