Hi there!
Can you share the domain name that you’re looking to restore? We’ll be able to give you an accurate answer once we know what stage the domain is in right now.
Thanks!

Thanks! I checked the domain’s WHOIS records and found that it’s actually registered with a different registrar, Dreamhost. It seems to be pointing to WordPress.com nameservers, though. And it doesn’t seem to have expired yet.
If you want to manage the domain registration or change its nameservers, you will want to log into the Dreamhost panel.
Alternatively, if you want to use the domain with your WordPress.com site at https://kateyorkcpacom.wordpress.com like you did in the past, you will want to follow these three steps:
One: Upgrade to a WordPress.com plan. You previously had the WordPress.com Personal plan on the site. You can choose that plan using the button below.
Two: After upgrading, add a Domain Connection. It is included with the Personal plan, so you won’t be charged again.
If you already own a domain name with another provider, you can use that domain with your WordPress.com site. Once you complete the steps below, instead of your site address being something like yourgroovysite.wordpress.com, your site’s address will be something like yourgroovydomain.com. Follow the steps in this guide to keep your domain registered with your current provider and use it to showThree: In this final step, you will set the domain as the primary address so that the site shows up at your domain instead of the WordPress.com address.
Your primary site address is the domain that people will see in their browser’s address bar when they visit your site. It is the address you use to promote your website. With a WordPress.com plan, you can set a custom domain as the primary site address. Without a paid plan, all custom domain(s) on the site will automatically redirect to your free .wordpress.com or .wpcomstaging.com site addressLet me know if you have any further questions or need more help with any of the above. :)

Thank you for your assistance. I upgraded to a wordpress plan. When I try to connect the domain, I’m receiving the following error, “kateyorkcpa.com can’t be transferred due to a transfer lock at the registry, but you can connect it instead.” Are you able to assist from here?

Sure!
So there are two ways you can use this domain with your WordPress.com site.
- Domain Connection. This keeps your domain registered with Dreamhost but points it to your WordPress.com site. This is how you had it set up previously.
- Transfer the domain to WordPress.com. This process involves transferring the domain registration to us, and it must begin at your domain registrar’s end (Dreamhost). You will need to unlock the domain and get the authorization code before you can proceed.
If you’d like to use the domain in the same way you did before, please follow these guides and use the “domain connection” option. You are getting the error because you are trying to transfer it.
But if you do want to transfer the domain registration to us — so both your domain and the site are with us at WordPress.com — please go to this link and follow the steps there. You will want to log in to Dreamhost, unlock the domain, and get the authorization code so we can begin the transfer.
Hope that helps!

Hi again! I just replied and saw this message:
I don’t have a dreamhost login.
You should have a Dreamhost account because, as you can see here, the domain is registered with them. It is vital that you get access to the domain. If it expires, you will need to log into the Dreamhost account to renew it. Otherwise, you could lose the domain.
I suggest contacting Dreamhost support as soon as possible to get access to your account. You can mention that you’re trying to access the domain kateyorkcpa.com, and they should be able to help.
