    Please read http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

    If you use a dictionary and look up what the word “expired” means you will understand your situation is that you don’t own a domain any more because you allowed it to expire. The domain name registrar you bought the domain name from now owns it and can do whatever they wish with it, including not selling to you again, auctioning it off or selling it to someone else or simply sitting on it. It’s not WordPress.com that has set any late charge. It’s the domain registrar who can set whatever fee they want for URL recovery.

    I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    I bought the domain name from wordpress not from an outside registrar.
    The whole ‘use a dictionary’ thing is not really appreciated and i’m simply asking for some form of assistance. I’m no computer wiz and haven’t a clue how any of these things work so please bear with me.
    If there is anyway in getting my domain name back your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you though for tagging the thread for staff assistance…

    Staff will assist you as soon as they answer the threads tagged for their attention previous to this one. They work forward in order of timestamps and timestamps from the first posted to the most recent ones posted.

    Cool thank you so much I look forward to their response…

    You’re welcome. Once Staff sort this for you you can enable autorenew like I do for my domains so I never lose them.

    Hi there timethief… Sorry if im being imoatient but its now been over 2 days since we last chatted. What is the expected waiting time for me until I have feedback from your guys side? Thank you.

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’m sorry. :( I understand how you feel but there is a considerable backlog of threads tagged for Staff attention and two days wait is not as long a wait as the bloggers who posted prior to you have waited.

    P.S. Bumping threads by posting again into them means the times/date stamps are moved forward and it takes longer to get help. It’s best not to post into this thread again. Staff address the threads with the earliest datestamps and time stamps first, as would be expected.

    @bodybeat1234

    We may still be able to recover your domain if it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else. A late renewal fee of $80 is added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one which we can waive.

    Emails were sent to you on both 10/28 and 11/12 regarding payment of this fee, and I have re-sent the message today, as well.

    If you don’t see it in your inbox, please check your spam folder, as it may have been filtered.

    Once payment has been made, let me know, and I will begin the recovery process.
