Expired Domain

  Hi,

  I purchased http://www.eriecanalwny.org as a domain through wordpress.com. I proceeded to develop my website on wordpress.com and pointed it to http://www.eriecanalwny.org.

  I had intentions of transfering the contents of http://www.eriecanalwny.org to hosting through GoDaddy and install wordpress.org so that I had greater options for plug-ins.

  However, I procrastinated and eriecanalwny.org expired and is now showing up as a porn site! How can I regain control of this domain????

  To regain control of this, you would have to contact its current owners. You can find their details from here. The current owners have privacy turned on and hence you would have to reach out the email id/phone number mentioned. The registrar would then help with reaching out to the current owners.

  Buy it from the porn dude – that is the downside of not renewing a domain name

  One the good side – since you developed the site on WordPress.COM the content is still safe at http://eriecanalwny.wordpress.com/ – so you can pick a new custom domain name if you want or just keep working on http://eriecanalwny.wordpress.com/ with no other expenses if you want to keep passing on good history of your area

  I am with auxclass would not buy any domain name that’s associated with porn. I would buy a new domain name instead.
