expired domain – cant access wp.com export function

i have access to wp admin for our old wp.org site through the oldsite.wordpress.com/wp-admin backup address but the export function is missing from tools.
i have a new domain organised that i would like to transfer too that isnt with our original host – can you help? (when going through the wp.com portal an error pops up asking if my jetpack plugin is up to date)

If you don’t see the export option in your self-hosted site’s dashboard, you’ll need to ask in the WordPress.org forums for help with that. We don’t have any access to or control over your self-hosted site, so there is no way for us to determine what might be going on.

It’s not possible to transfer a domain to WordPress.com. You’ll need to leave the domain registered with your current domain provider, and map it here instead using the domain mapping upgrade included in all our plans. See here for more information:

yeah i may have fallen through a crack in the system?
the site was self hosted but it finished without my knowledge. looks like functionality was removed and it was turned into a wp.com site although i could still access wp-admin.
does that make sense?

A self-hosted site cannot be changed into a WordPress.com site. Self-hosted sites are not connected to us in any way.
You have 4 sites in your account. Is the site you want to export by any chance meandmiblog.wordpress.com? Your username is only and editor on that site, not an admin, so on that site you won’t be able to create an export. Only admins have that ability.
The other sites in your account are malcolmisaacsgolf.wordpress.com, a WordPress.com site on which you are the owner and admin, northeagolf.co.uk, a self-hosted site of which you are the owner of the Jetpack connection and an admin, and meandmiblog.com, also a self-hosted site of which you don’t own the Jetpack connection, but you do appear to be an admin.
The two self-hosted sites are connected here via the Jetpack plugin, but we don’t have access to their dashboards and are not able to help you with exporting content from either of them.

yeah meandmiblog.com was self hosted the last couple years. my friend made me an admin on it from the start. i was able to export some stuff a while ago?
i dont know how meandmiblog.wordpress.com was created??

It looks like meandmiblog.com is no longer online, though, so if you somehow got redirected to the WordPress.com site where you’re an editor that would explain things.
You won’t be able to export from meandmiblog.com if you can’t access its dashboard, and if that site is offline it means the dashboard doesn’t currently exist. You’ll need to get in touch with your friend to get the hosting for that site sorted out so it’s back online if you need to access content on that site. We have no access to it from our end.
