Expired domain hasn't remapped after payment

    Hello!
    My domain was due to be renewed, so I paid another year of domain mapping (17 CAD), the payment went through and I have the receipt but my domain doesn’t show in the the list of domains, and when I try to map it the site asks me to pay for a premium plan (112 CAD) on top of my previous purchase.

    Any pointers on what I might have done wrong will be very helpful!

    Agetro06,

    Domain renewal fee and WordPress plans are two different things, but I believe if you set this up initially with WordPress, it should have renewed automatically, unless you changed that option since you first registered. Since your mapping isn’t working it seems what happened was your Premium Plan was not renewed. Here is some further information on renewals: https://en.support.wordpress.com/auto-renewal/

    But in all honesty, it sounds like a staff member should take a look at your account.

    Thanks @aniellocristo, it might have been that but I’m a bit confusing by the renewal process.

    So a premium account is necessary to map my own domain?

    Hi agetro06,

    I’ve checked your account and we received the payment for your domain mapping renewal. However, it appears there was a technical problem and domain mapping wasn’t added back to your site. I’ve added the upgrade back to your site for you:

    https://wordpress.com/me/purchases

    So a premium account is necessary to map my own domain?

    Domain mapping use to be available as a standalone upgrade but this was changed last year. New domain mapping purchases are now only available through a paid plan (Personal, Premium and Business).
