Expired Domain Lost Content

  Hi there,

  a friend of mine didn’t renew their wordpress site, they waited too long despite then warnings. The real loss however was the posts that were done while they owned the domain. He currently can’t buy it back either for some reason, but it’s still apparently “owned” by him?

  It’s been quite a few months since everything was lost, but I’m wondering if in cases like this is it at all possible to retrieve the content not even the domain necessarily.

  If the site has been deleted the answer is no.

  If the underlying .wordpress.com URL has been deleted then all I can suggest is using the internet archives (wayback machine) https://archive.org/index.php or doing a Google search for cached content.

  If you can’t search it does that mean it’s deleted. He can’t access it but when he searches it says it’s still being used… by him! That site didn’t return anything for me. Thanks though!

  Will you please have that blogger log in and post here? When he does that he can provide the underlying .wordpress.com site URL.
