Expired domain mapping on Google
-
This question relates to my blog http://scytherspace.wordpress.com
When I started blogging, I paid for the Domain Mapping upgrade to map the name scytherspace.com to my blog at scytherspace.wordpress.com That upgrade expired in september 2011 and I didn’t want to renew it.
According to the dashboard, all the permalinks for my posts have the .wordpress.com domain but when i search on Google it returns results for .com which of course then takes you to an error page. My categories and tags also appear, according to Google, to be at scytherspace.com and even if i search for ‘scytherspace’, the .com result comes up first. Example search terms: ‘scythe cumbria’Will this eventually correct itself or is there something I can do to correct it? The scytherspace.com name has been bought by someone in australia according to WhoIs so I can’t even make a portal site.
Thanks for any help

This will eventually correct itself. It can take four months or so, or it can be much faster; it all depends on Google. Posting frequently here and getting incoming links will help.

phew, thanks. Luckily scything is seasonal so my main traffic won’t be until april 2012 but I’ll follow your advice and keep adding some posts.
