Expired domain name
-
I desperately need to know what to do about my expired domain name http://www.i-went-bankrupt.com as the pages on my blog keep directing to this now defunct domain (a domain parking site) despite the fact that I’ve now set my primary domain to http://www.iwentbankrupt.co.uk
Does i-went-bankrupt.com need to be deleted?

When I visit your site, iwentbankrupt.co.uk displays properly for me. Can you try clearing your browser’s cache and then visiting once more?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookiesTo confirm, you’re visiting iwentbankrupt.co.uk, rather than i-went-bankrupt.com. Is that correct?

Thanks very much for your help. It seems to be working fine now. And yes, my new address is iwentbankrupt.co.uk
The other problem I have is that the change of domain name has affected my blog traffic. When people search certain keywords that used to result in hits, Google displays the old domain link which when clicked takes the visitor to the domain parking site. Do you know if Google will eventually update and direct to the new address?

WordPress.com automatically sends notifications to Google with every post and page update. The search engines can take 4-6 weeks or more to add any new sites. For more information about WordPress.com and Search Engines, please see http://support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
If you’d like to request that Google remove those old links, or get some additional information from Google, you may want to set up Google Webmaster Tools with your site:
