Expired Domain, Redemption Period

    My domain patrickbraun.net was registered with WordPress but expired on May 28.

    I tried to renew it but was unable to do so via the dashboard. I’m aware of the fee I’ll have to pay, but how do I proceed to actually pay and renew my domain (patrickbraun.net)?

    Can some staff-member help me?

    Here is some information about domain expiration. Your domain may be in the middle of a redemption period since it’s not available to register.

    Hey there,

    You are correct – I checked with our registrar and patrickbraun.net is now in a redemption period. You can still renew your domain through us, but it is now a more expensive and complicated process to do so. Our registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 we charge to renew the domain. The good news is that this is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.

    Your other option is to wait until the redemption period is over so that the domain becomes available for registration again. Domains are usually in redemption for approximately 80 days, but with this option, you run
    the risk of someone else jumping in front of you to purchase the domain before you get the chance.

    Please let me know if you want to proceed with paying the late renewal fee in the attempt to reclaim the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because the domain can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.

    I would suggest enabling the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about losing control over your domain in the future.

    thanks for you Quick response.

    I’ll be happy to pay those extra fees if we can get the Domain online asap. I have custom e-mail Adressen with Microsoft assigned to this domain.

    So how do we proceed? How can I pay?

    I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore patrickbraun.net to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.

    I will let you know once I hear back from the registrar.

    Thanks! Sounds like good news to me so far.

    Please keep in mind that I have my e-mail assigned to the domain, so I won’t be able to receive the payment request via my standard e-mail I registered with WordPress. I’ll provide a working e-mail adress as soon as you’re ready to send the form…
