expired domain – RENEW PLEASE!!!

    My website just vanished and I discovered that the payment this spring didn’t go through. I’d like to pay for it now so that it is active again. I have been paying $18/year for my domain name: hudsonvalleythaimassage.com I have been using WIX for sometime now as the website creation platform.

    Hi there!

    Your domain hudsonvalleythaimassage.com expired on April 6, 2021 and is currently in the redemption period:

    Domain Expiration

    We can still try to recover the domain but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition to the regular $18 domain renewal cost. If you agree, I can send a payment request and contact our domain registrar once it has been paid.

    On a side note, would you clarify something regarding this communication system/customer service method of using a public forum.

    Seems odd to me that discussing/troubleshooting my website happens on a public forum as opposed to directly with customer service.

    Curious if those reading this are folks who work for WordPress.com or are the general public who may or may not have a wordpress account. Just concerned about hackers or people reading info that is mine to share just with customer service.

    This is the first time I’ve come across this so it just stands out as unique to me.

    Thanks for any explanation – would maybe help me feel more comfortable with this system in place for help.

    Your case is a bit different since you don’t have a paid plan here and your domain had expired some time ago, but I hope that helps clarify why you were sent here.

    I can see the domain is renewed now, so going forward you’ll want to either enable auto renew here, watch for the renewal emails (they come one month prior to expiration so you have time to address any issues), or consider transferring your domain to your current hosting so the billing is in one place.
