Expired Domain Renewal
-
I inherited a WordPress domain, gppreview.com and was not told it was near expiration. I believing it is in the redemption period. How do I go about re-registering the domain?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is a matter of some urgency and I would really appreciate some staff help in resolving this.
-
Still waiting…would love to pay you for your services, just would really like my page to work again.
-
It’s now come to my attention that my organization’s associated email addresses are not working either. Please let us find out about the status of / renew our domain.
-
Sorry for the bump…because the emails have been disabled, just wanted to direct moderators wishing to help to an email I can be reached at (email visible only to moderators and staff)
Thanks

Hello,
Unfortunately, the entire WordPress staff is currently at a company meetup, so you may not get the help you need as quickly as you might otherwise.
You’ve already got the ModLook tag on this thread, though, so they should be seeing it at some point. It sounds like they’re still checking the forums during this time; I’m just not sure how frequently.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks, I’m just hoping to get some help because I’m worried about losing the domain permanently, given it’s in the redemption period.
-
I am sending you an email to the address associated with your WordPress.com account. Please let me know if you do not receive it.
-
Ahhh, as you point out, that email will not work.
I shall just respond here.

I can help you with that.
A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one that we can waive.
Please click the following link to pay for the renewal:
https://manualpayments.wordpress.com/?u=8531338a96
The total price will be $98, which is $18 for the regular renewal, plus the $80 late renewal fee. Please reply back if you have submitted the payment so that we can begin the recovery process.
If we are unable to recover your domain, your payment will be refunded. If you do not wish to pay the $80 fee, you may let the domain expiration process continue and attempt to register the domain again at the regular price, once it has completely expired.
Please note that someone else may purchase the domain first, in which case you will be unable to register it again, but if you prefer this option, just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide you further instructions.

I am also having the same issue. Rootjosh, can you help me too? No one is responding to my thread.
-
twiptrips, I suggest you add the ‘modlook’ tag to your forum post so staff know it’s an issue that can’t be resolved by the community.
-
-
@twiptrips – I’ve already done that for you in your forum thread. Please follow up in there and thanks for your patience.
-
Hi, I see my payment has processed. Any indication of when I’ll know if my domain can be redeemed?
-
Hi, I submitted payment nearly 24 hours ago. Everything I’ve read tells me domain redemption is a matter contingent on time. Could I please get a response as to the status of the domain redemption process I paid for?
-
Thank you for taking care of that payment.
I am waiting to hear back from the registrar.
-
staff-ozmodiar – Can someone over there help me out? I have been waiting on someone since the 16th to answer my thread. My site has been down for 2 weeks!
-
Again, I was waiting to hear back from the registrar. That is something that is out of my control.
However, I have heard back from them and the domain should be active in your account again. If you need to change your nameservers to point to a different webhost, you can use these instructions:
Let me know if you have any trouble.
