Expired upgrades
-
I accidentally let my upgrades expire (Nov 10 and 12) and now I can’t find a way to renew. I tried just buying them again, but the site won’t let me and instead says, “you already have these upgrades, do you want to renew?” On the My Upgrade page, there is no button to renew.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
What is the URL of the domain you allowed to expire please? Please read this http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/ and I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting. -
The top level domain here is wordpress.com and all wordpress.com blogs are on .wordpress.com sub-domains that never expire.
I asked for the domain URL that you were mapping to from your free hosted wordpress.com blog.

Hi @blytton – The No Ads upgrade is owned by another user on your blog:
https://ajpmonline.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.phpIf that user logs in with his account, he’ll see the option to renew here:

Hi there – The owner replied, and at his request, I transferred ownership of the site to you. The No Ads upgrade expired out of his account, but you can simply purchase it again through the blog’s store:

Thank you so much!
In order to change the “owner” of our blog, do we have to go through you/WordPress? In a couple of months I will be retiring, so I will need to hand over the blog to my replacement.

Hi there – You can transfer the ownership to your replacement in this way:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-wordpress-com-user-or-accountThe important thing is that we use the email address on file for the account in order to identify you. So if, for example, you give your replacement your login details, but it’s still your email address/account, then if later they forget their password and write in, we can’t help them. So, that’s why it’s best that your replacement create their own account with their own email address and then you move the blog to them. :
Let me know if you have any trouble when the time comes! :)
