Explain widgets and workspaces

I know this topic seems pretty basic for this forum, but I can’t find where else to go for help. I’ll try to keep it very general. I had a WordPress Blog created with a very basic theme that I got off the web. I recently bought some software that creates wordpress themes and when I uploaded it and activated it into my WordPress I lost the few posts ( or comments) I had. I figured “no big deal” I’ll just activate the widget and place it in the body. Well, seems like a big deal. I need to find out the difference between a post or comment. I need to figue out how to get it in the main body, everything is saying “side bars”, and yet I can’t find any place that is close to understandable english to explain these things and does not involve changing code. Could someone direct me someplace?

I’m sorry but you have posted to the wrong support forum. We cannot help you here at WordPress.com with that site as it’s not being hosted by WordPress.com and we run on different software. This is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/ If you have not registered a WordPress.org username account yet you can do so on the top right hand corner of the page I just linked to so you can post to those support forums.
