  I would like to export selected posts on my blog so that I can edit them in another program, such as Word or Pages. I have reviewed the support documentation on Exporting, and the only option I see is to export to XML. I have done this, and every time I try to open the XML file in any application, I receive an error that the file cannot be opened because there are problems with the content.

  Can my WordPress posts be exported and opened into another format?

  You will have to open the export file in an plain text editor in order to edit it. You cannot do the editing in Word or in Pages.
