    I was wondering how to save pictures to my posts themselves not the media library, so that I can export correctly

    Hi there,

    This is not how the WordPress software works. Images are never added directly to posts, but posts only reference the links at which the images are hosted in the media library.

    A WordPress export does not include the images themselves, only the posts with those references. When you then import that file on another site, that site fetches the images from the old site’s media library directly, as part of the import process. For this reason it’s important that the old site remains online and publicly accessible during the import process, until all images have completed transferring over.

    There is no way to export media files themselves on WordPress.com.
