Export a Word (.docx or .doc) to WordPress on an iPad
-
I want to use my iPad (with an external Bluetooth keyboard) to blog on an upcoming trip rather than lug a laptop around.
I know that I can export directly from Word for Office 365 into WordPress, but if I use a desktop computer at a remote location, they may not have the latest version of Word available.
Does anyone know the earliest version of Word that has the direct export feature?
Thanks.

Hi edjkant,
This is probably a better question for Microsoft Word support, since they will have detailed information about the various versions of Word.
We strongly encourage our users to use WordPress.com post editor to create content and formatting on the fly. You can learn more about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/
If you desire to do offline blog post creation, you might try software such as the WordPress.com app: https://apps.wordpress.com/mobile/

Ellybiddle,
Thank you!
I checked those references and find them very helpful.
We are leaving in a few days and I will be making my first post to the new blog before we leave so I can (hopefully) work out the bugs.

Hi Ed,
The other option you may want to consider is Google Docs — an online document manager. You can type a post in Google Docs, then embed the contents into your WordPress.com blog by copying and pasting an embed code. We have some information about the process in this guide:
This would mean you wouldn’t have to worry about software versions :)
