Export and import leaving items unattached

    Hi there, I am moving my blog to my own self-hosted blog on a wordpress theme. When I click on Export and go with “all content”, it spits out a 317KB file which I subsequently imported into the new website. Now, it:

    – Does not bring over all my comments, pictures, posts and categories.
    – Leaves a number of pictures and comments unattached.

    I have tried the other methods of exporting too, nothing’s worked. Please advise what’s wrong.

    Hey there!

    Sorry to hear about the trouble you had. I did a test of my own and imported your XML file to my test blog. The results pretty much reflect the exact contents of your WordPress.com blog — 19 posts, 32 comments and 85 items (4 unattached) in the Media Library. Can you tell me what your results are after your import? For more help on importing content to a WordPress.org blog, see this page:
