Export Error 6

  I have asked this questions multiple times without an answer, I am moving my wp.com blog to wp.org with Blue Host. I have been able to export all my posts (had to do it one month at a time due to the amount of content) However, I am unable to move September and October 2011 because I keep getting error 6 when I export. I think it is because it is too much content even one month at a time. However, there is no way to select a smaller increment. I am the only author and I am moving just published posts and it will not work, keeps giving me the error. I cannot be the only blogger that needs to export a lot of content. Please help.

  I figured it out but I want to post the solution for someone else to benefit from. If you are down to the month and WP will not allow you to download and export then you need to categorize the posts in that month into smaller chunks of data and then download them like that. You will need to use a file splitter when you import into your new site. Hope this helps someone. I cannot believe there was no answer for me but it did force me to find the solution. Hopefully wp.com will put this somewhere so other users are not pulling their hair out for days.
