Export Error – "File Not Found"
-
Attempts to export my site via the Dashboard – Tools – Export (All Content) feature fail with a “File Not Found” error.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This thread may shed some light on the issue:

I tagged this thread for a WordPress.com employee to look and see if that is indeed the issue.

Thanks for the link. So a site with 500 posts is too big for the browser to handle? Apparently I need staff assistance from now on to back up my blog?
That kinda sucks for both me and the poor staff, but I guess it is what it is. Drat!
So, WP Staff… HELP!! :)

I’m not entirely sure that your specific issue is the same reason and that you won’t be able to ever export it yourself, but I did find a few other instances where people were having a similar issue as mentioned in the page I linked to.

The irony is that, for many weeks there has been this “Live Chat” button that keeps popping up on Dashboard (and some other) pages. But now that I need it, Live Chat is nowhere to be found. :(
The Perverse Universe keeps rollin’ on ironically. :

The issue is normally a time out error, if it fails on you once that doesn’t necessarily mean it will fail for you again in the future. As you do backups in the future, if the export always times out you can try doing separate exports for posts, pages, and feedback to reduce the load on each one.
For now, I’ve done an admin export of your site. I will email you a download link to the xml files shortly.

Thanks, Alex. I’ll give it a try during the wee hours sometime. It’s disappointing that 500 posts is a blog too big for exporting.
Got your email, thank you.
