Export File Incomplete
-
Hi,
I have been trying to export my website in order to migrate to a new domain on WordPress.org. However, when I import the file to wordpress.org, it does not seem to upload all of my data – I only get about half of my posts and media. I have checked with my domain host and they have informed me that the file is corrupted. I would be grateful if someone could check on this for me, please.

@silverjewellerygirl Hi there,
What is the URL of your website or what is the name of your account on the WordPress.com platform you need assistance with?

Hi, thank you. It’s https://silverjewellerygirl.wordpress.com – I really appreciate the help!
I seem to have managed to import all my posts and pages, if I untick the box on WordPress.org that links all the attachments and media. Although it means I am having to manually upload my photos and reset all the image links, as currently, they’re all pointing back to the original WordPress.com site.

Hi there,
You can use the Export tools to back up all of your content or move your content to a new WordPress.com site or to a new self-hosted WordPress site.
Important to note:
This will ONLY export your posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags; uploads and images may need to be transferred manually to the new site. The XML file does contain references to image files, so if the site you’re exporting from is still live, your new site should be able to pull the images from there after importing.Here’s the document with all the related information:

There’s more information on these Jetpack backups here:Hope this helps further!

Hi,
Thank you ever so much! It explains a lot! I think I should be able to sort it out from here. Thank you for taking the time to help me.
Kind Regards,
