export function not working

    Hi,

    I am trying to export my content so that I can move it to a self-hosted wordpress.org blog. When I use the export tool, I get an XML file but all it has is my word cloud with a bunch of numbers in it. Here is what I get:

    To complicate things, I am putting my new blog on the domain name http://www.clabbermouth.com which I originally bought through wordpress.com. I already changed the nameservers to point to my new site. My wordpress.com blog seems to still all be there, but sometimes it redirects to the new site – I just want to make sure I can get my content and that it’s not going to disappear! Can you help me export my content?

    That’s rather odd. Can you tell us which browser (and version of) you were using when it did that?

    I was using firefox 8.0. I updated my browser so I am now using Firefox 9.0.1. And I can now get back into my wordpress account, which is a relief. But when I tried the export function again, the same thing happened. I also tried with internet explorer 9 and got the same file.

    I would appreciate your help in this matter!

    Is it downloading the file, or is it opening it, followed by you saving it?

    I tried both, with the same result.

    Then eventually I did “save as” and that resolved the problem. Thanks!
