  Hi, I use names.co.uk to host my website and I’m trying to export my website to them. I’ve used the export feature on your site but the support team at names sent me this email:

  ‘Please be advised the files you have provide are XML files and do not hold all of your content or any of your databases. I will need the full content and database for this migration to go through’

  Please can you advise on how I can send the full content and database to them, thank you.

  Hi there!

  Can you clarify if you’re setting up a new WordPress installation with them or are they using another CMS? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.

  Thanks for clarifying! You would just need to take your XML file and use the import tools built into WordPress.com to move your content over.

  The XML file will reference your content (posts/pages/images/etc) and import it to your new site without needing access to the database files.

  The only thing that won’t transfer is your theme or any customizations you’ve made.
