Export is incomplete

    Hi, I’ve been trying to export/import my wordpress hosted blog to a wp blog hosted by a third party, and the content (blogs, pages etc – not images), is incomplete. ie from 48 posts around 14 are being transferred.

    I have used the ‘export all’ function, and on the second attempt more posts were imported. The content that is being transferred is very old, and the more recent pages and blogs are missing. I understand that images do not get transferred, but it is specifically written content that is missing.

    Any advice that can be offered is appreciated.

    Hi there!
    Since you did not say that there were any errors when you did the export and were able to successfully import some content you can do the process. You might try exporting just the posts and pages separately and see what happens.

    Hi – thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

    I didn’t have any errors reported, but I did follow your advice and try importing the posts and pages separately and I am 95% sure that has worked, thank you!

    The only thing I did differently though was not tick the box about file attachments. And this time round when I imported the files I received a page by page/post by post status breakdown.
