Export my blog

    Good evening!
    I will export my blog to save it.
    As I understand my pictures will not be copied if I only press ‘export all’.
    How to do so the pictures will be copied?

    Hey

    I believe it is not possible to export media(pictures) with the export function.

    I understand you would like to export your blog along with pictures to save, it is not a function in WordPress, but as long as the WordPress blog is set to public, the exported XML file contains the media URL which links to the pictures stored on the WordPress server.

    So, when you import the saved XML file which you just exported, it will move the media files from the linked WordPress server into your new server(if you are moving it to a new WordPress blog or even self hosted).

    So yeah that is what I can think of for now.

    What you can do to save the media files to your computer since your goal is to save information:

    Go to the media section of the WordPress.com blog

    WordPress.com/media/

    click on which blog you want to access media to

    then right click on the pictures, click “Save image as…” and save it to the folder directory you want it to be in in your computer.

    Yes its more tedious and lots of clicking but hey its simple!
