Export my stuff

    I need to download all my material to work on the site. I see export instructions from a Google search, but don’t find search or export tabs. Help?

    On exporting your material to work on your site, you may follow the instructions here.

    If you’re planning to FTP and gain the files to edit, that’s not allowed with WordPress.com blogs.

    You can use the Export tool to backup all of your content or move your content to a new WordPress site. https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

    Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

    You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to Tools.

    Dashboard > Tools > Export

    http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=export-choices

    *You will have to replace NAME_OF_BLOG with the actual name of your blog in that URL.

    P.S. Just so you are clear on this know that themes licensed and adapted for use on wordpress.COM software cannot be exported and imported.

    The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes

    There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons and we cannot:
    upload any third party themes,
    create child themes,
    create our own themes,
    edit templates,
    create own own layouts,
    or use stylesheets from other themes.
