Export Site
-
Hi,
I need some support here to export my site and create a new wordpress.org blog. I have paid to host plan but no way I know how to do it.
Initially, I had an XML file that I have extracted some time ago and it shows an error with WXR missing/not found in Import options of wordpress.org.
The other issue is with the interface. It’s changed!
Please help me to export the data so I can use it in my wordpress.org blog.

Hi @griffenjohn13, I’d recommend making a fresh export first. Then, this site can walk you through moving your site to your own installation with another host:

Hey @supernovia,
the problem is pretty complex. Now my WordPress.com site which I had build ends with a .home.blog domain, has connected itself with my newly created WordPress.org based domain.
Wp-admin in wordpress.com redirects to my wordpress.org somehow.
So, to make it simple, I can’t edit any posts from my .home.blog site (the wp-admin portal). It opens the site well but can’t view any information apart from a “hello world” page.
As a result, I can’t export my data. Can you help me here?

Can you please tell us the address of the site in question?

What do you mean by a WordPress.org-based domain? WordPress.org is not a hosting platform like WordPress.com, and you cannot have a site there – it’s just the place where the open source WordPress software is made.
A free WordPress.com address also cannot be connected to a site hosted anywhere else, as that address can only ever point to WordPress.com, so there’s likely something else going on here.

I can’t see any issues.
https://fmtgriffen.home.blog/ is reached via this WordPress.com account.
http://fmtgriffen.com/wp-login.php is where you access your other site over at GoDaddy. The two sites are in two different places. -
I stand corrected. It looks like https://fmtgriffen.home.blog/ is reached by a different WordPress.com account.

multiple accounts just complicate things.
