Export Tool does not include ALL data

    Yup, I have seen this has been asked before, countless times. I am attempting to move from WP.com to my own host at ipower.com. I have installed the software at my new host. The problem occurs when I use the Export tool on the WP.com site, it gives me an .XML files that is 4.2MB in size, but only includes 4 posts, 1 page, 25 categories and all my tags. I am missing nearly 9 years of posts. How do I export ALL the content in one shot? Is that not possible? I know there is a 10MB file size, but obviously I am doing something wrong, but it is not apparent.

    You will have to chop it into bite-sized pieces. Export only sections, split up by date. That should get around this.

    I would suggest contacting staff directly. Perhaps there is an issue with exporting your blog that they will be able to identify.

    Okay thanks, I will attempt pieces first and see if that works around my problem, if not then on to support.

    @stoumi Huge blogs (such as yours) do have to be chunked up. Both on the export and the import at your new host.
