    Hello,
Trying to export wordpress.com (free) contents to launch a new .com site on a hosting site. Have exported using Tools>export>all content without success. Some of the contents (categories, media files/images) are visible when imported to new admin panel. However, none of the pages or posts are visible. Since my wordpress.com site is free, I am unable to access the database for export. Chatted with two AI bots last evening. The one from the hosting sight says everything on their end looks like the export from original site was done correctly, and import to their platform also correct. Was referred to contact WP.

The WP bot verified that the site is public, tried different date ranges, and checked the XML structure with me. That bot determined that there is a a technical issue with the export function itself on your site. Since you need a working export file to migrate your site and this appears to be a system-level problem, I’d recommend connecting with our human support team who can investigate the export function and help generate a proper XML file for you.”

I am not a candidate for human tech support since I am on the free plan.

Any recommendations on how I can obatin a proper XML file to export pages/posts? So that I can begin using my new website.com?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

    Hi @heavenlyraindrops

I apologize for our delayed response, and I see that you have subscribed to one of our paid plans after opening this ticket.

Your current plan includes the capability to install plugins, and you can export your entire site using the All-in-One WP Migration plugin and use the export file to migrate your site to your new hosting platform. You may refer to our support guide here: https://wordpress.com/support/export-an-entire-website-with-a-plugin

If you’ve decided to stay, please share your site goals with us and what features you want to add to your site.

I will close this ticket for now, and please feel free to open a live chat session, and one of us Happiness Engineers will assist you further: https://wordpress.com/support/help-support-options
