Exporting & Importing – what happens to links within a post?
-
In my posts I’m starting to use links that point to other posts in the same overall blog. For clarity I’ll discuss the following post:
http://earthpages.wordpress.com/2009/11/05/ramakrishna-sri/
Because I often update/republish the overall blog I’ve chosen to make the hyperlinks point to a search string, for example:
That way when I update/republish the post on “Numinous” the link to it from “Sri Ramakrishna” will still work.
Okay… so my question is:
Let’s say at some point I want to make the change to WordPress.org. I export my WordPress.com blog and import it to my new and compliant web host. Correct?
But what happens to the links within my posts? — e.g.
Currently they have “earthpages.wordpress.com/” within them. Will this be automatically corrected when importing?
And would the search syntax in the link — “?s=numinous” — work in WordPress.org?
Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oops. I posted the example hyperlink from the export file, which activated everything after it. What I should have done is this:

This is the corrected version; hopefully easier to follow

When you post links and code, please post it between backticks, those little marks usually on the same key as the ~. So Backtick, all the code, Backtick.
Otherwise as you’ve noticed, we can’t read it.

Thanks raincoaster. I’ve run into that issue before and once it happened this time I knew there was a way to avoid it (I used to create web pages before becoming a blogger…).
