Exporting Content

  I used the Export stepts to try to save my posts to my Mac, but when I tried to read the content is was one huge block of confusing text. Is there a way to copy my posts so that I can save them on my desktop? I am ending my blog and don’t want to lose everything I’ve written over the years. Thanks, Elizabeth

  It’s a XML file. It is used to export your blog to another platform

  XML files are not meant to be used on your computer at all. They are meant to be stored there for backup. Read about the differences here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Text_editor When you open and XML export file and don’t do that in a plain text editor you corrupt the file.

  Or to have a backup, not to read it.
  Although there are many programs that can read it.
