Exporting Data
-
I’m trying to export my whole blog to transfer it to my new wordpress.org self-host website. It is not exporting all of my blog posts and information. I have heard that I need to increase my upload file limit so it’s higher, that way I can export all of my files. I do not know how to do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@ashsbeautyspace is it that the export file doesn’t contain all posts, or is it that those posts aren’t importing?
Have you looked at the export file to confirm the posts are missing?
We typically split large export files so you don’t run into those kinds of limits. But it’s possible you’re hitting a limit with your new host.

I’m not exactly sure, once the export downloads to my computer I click on it and there’s just one file and it won’t allow me to open it for some reason. So I then export that to my new host and and only 6 of my posts transfer when I have many more. I didn’t think about it being the new host, I will look into that too. Thank you! I’m confused on how this transfer works.

No worries, @ashsbeautyspace. Here’s a simple test you can try. Log into the new installation, then try running the import again using the same file.
If more posts come in, you can tell it’s timing out at your host, and you can contact them for help.
If it says all of those posts exist, then we can look at the export file to see what’s wrong.
I hope this helps!
