Exporting Issue

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m facing issues while migrating my blogpost into WordPress.org.
First, after clicking on the Exporting all option, I’m not getting downloaded link in my Email.
Second, while exporting the media folder, the downloading file gets canceled midway.
Third, after importing 2 XML files from WordPress.com, all the blogposts are not appearing into WordPress.org as expected.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

First, after clicking on the Exporting all option, I’m not getting downloaded link in my Email.

We’ve sent you a site export via email 13 times in the past 24 hours. If those aren’t in your inbox, please check the spam folder, and also the Social and Updates folders in Gmail.

Second, while exporting the media folder, the downloading file gets canceled midway.

If you have a lot of files in your media library (and you’re using the full 3GB), media downloads can time out, even if you’re on a very fast internet connection. In most browsers you should be able to just click on the Download Failed notification and select the “Resume Download” option.

Otherwise, please search online for a download manager app, and use that to handle the large download for you.

Third, after importing 2 XML files from WordPress.com, all the blogposts are not appearing into WordPress.org as expected.

I’m afraid we’re not able to help with this as we have no control over the importer on your new site. There are various reasons why an import can fail on a self-hosted WordPress site. Please ask the WordPress.org community for advice on how to troubleshoot what’s causing this, and how to fix it:
