Exporting media and posts: would articles keep their integrity upon backup?

    Hi,

    Just a quick question. I am currently backing up the blog posts on one of my WordPress sites, rather than the entire site itself, and was using the ‘Export’ function on the WP admin menu.

    If I were to export the posts, and then the media, and later do a back up of both of these, would the media (pictures, videos) be loaded back into the posts in their original positions? Or would this just simply create a database of the media files, that I would have to manually re-insert into the posts?

    If the answer is the latter, are there any straightforward ways to export only blog posts, in a way that maintains the posts’ original integrity, media and all?

    Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated!
