exporting my blog content

  Hi, I’m trying to export my blog content but every time I do the XML file is empty! What am I doing wrong? The site is a wordpress.com site. Appreciate the help

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Howdy Jules!
  Here is the guide to help you with Export your content, did you try to Export all? And you received an Empty file?
  What is the file size you get? Let us know further, and we should be able to assist you further.

  HI Pavanraheja, thanks for the reply! yep that’s the guide I followed exactly and tried exporting all and also individually but they’re still empty! The file size was 1.4MB

  Hi again..!
  Just a couple of questions before we can escalate this to staff, and they can help you with it, just to make sure you are exporting content from frugaljules.wordpress.com.
  and you are receiving empty files, as sometimes users have multiple sites under WordPress so just making sure, and as you mention you have already tried exporting individually as well. And you tried it importing to some place and nothing showed up?

  Hi there, yes that’s correct :) I have another site address which I just changed it from but I am sure I am exporting content from frugaljules.wordpress.com. Nevertheless I also tried exporting when I only had one site and I was still getting an empty export file.

  Yep, I tried importing it to my new host but it kept coming up with an error detailing the file is empty.

  Really appreciate the assistance, thank you!

  okay something strange has happened. I just discovered the import file I tried a few hours ago which came up with an error , actually imported a portion of my content. I’m just having a scour now at what’s imported and not!

  Thanks, I do need a bit of assistance. It seems all of my posts are over, but the categories and tags are a bit scattered and some posts are missing photos? How can I clean things up or is there a way to start over so I can ensure all the content is migrated correctly?

  Hi Jules!
  For your new domain you can just use this guide to Empty Site
  and then start over again, the document will help you with it, and then you can export the individual elements as explained in the guide for export you have, and hopefully you will get all the content in place, also you can share the new URL so we can have a look at it as well in case you need further assistance as well. Hope you get this in place soon.

  I just had a look at the site, it seems to be working fine, also to update your new site thefrugaltraveller.com is a Self Hosted Website, so for support for that site your, this would be the best place for you WordPress org Support
