Exporting site content after transferring to a new domain

  I transferred my domain from wordpress to a new location but I did not realize I needed to export my content first. It appears all of my original WP site content is now gone. Is there any way that I can retrieve that or is it gone for good? I am a novice and was so focused on getting the transfer step right I completely missed the need to export my site content first. I officially transferred the site over to the new location within the last hour and I’m hoping there’s a threshold where my old site content hasn’t been permanently deleted.
